Here is a little trick to disable "Recent Documents" menu main GNOME that while it may be useful to someone, for others it is unnecessary.
Well, it's as easy as creating a folder called . used.xbel recently-personal folder.
Warning: You may do so when the error you have a file named the same, delete the file and then do this.

Clean your hard drive with DBAN
DBAN (Darik's Boot And Nuke) is a bootable disk in order to clear the entire contents of your hard drive. Very useful if you are going to give your computer to someone or throw it and do not want to leave traces of information stored
Its use is easy, download the ISO image from here and once recorded, start the computer with the CD as the first start, the first thing you see is the following:
Press Enter to go to interactive mode.
'll see a list of hard drives, and have one or more, select the one you want or you want to clean.
Select with the space bar or by pressing Enter until you see that puts "wipe" .
Now press F10 and begins cleaning be patient as it can take several hours.
Once complete, you get a notification message, turn and go.

NVIDIA graphics controller in Ubuntu 10.04
Since the release of Ubuntu 10.04 , many (including myself) have had problems with drivers NVIDIA graphics cards . This is because by default in this distribution is free nouveau driver that although there are cases in which no-hassle, in others yes.
following a few simple steps to replace that driver with the official and get more stability and performance. Previous recommendations
:
- Have the system with latest updates installed.
- official NVIDIA driver downloaded from here
- Package compilation: sudo apt-get install build-essential
Disabling nouveau:
Go to Applications → Accessories → Terminal and type:
$ sudo gedit / etc / modprobe.d / blacklist.conf
opens an editor and late all, put the following:
vga16fb
blacklist blacklist blacklist nouveau
rivafb
blacklist blacklist nvidiafb
rivatv
Save the file and go back to Applications → Accessories → Terminal and type:
$ sudo apt-get - purge remove nvidia-*
$ sudo apt-get - purge remove xserver-xorg-video-nouveau
Restart and now the screen resolution should be amended because nouveau not in use, go to Applications → Accessories → Terminal and type :
gdm stop $ sudo service
Now login with your username and password and enter:
$ chmod + x nombre_archivo.run & & sudo. / nombre_archivo.run
(assuming the file is placed in your home folder)
Note: Where reference is made nombre_archivo.run the previously downloaded file name, ie, the driver.

What Do The Colored Bands Mean
Vacation
you realize that you have not published anything, but is that from my hand (that I have a little escacharrada), family, work and other small projects that I have out there I have no time upgrade the system. So soon you'll be able to tell. Instead of pissing off thinking that I would be posting something, I will to take a little break from a short week.
I will disconnect, breathing hard, and return with more strength after these weeks.
guess I'll be out until the last week of July or maybe the first or second of August, we'll see. It all depends on if I go on a trip to Interlagos and I will not.

But this is not recommended as discussed in Geek World it has side effect such that we can not start the Alt + F2 launcher is better for both hide the panel (right click on the panel> Properties > Hide automatically) but leaves a visible portion strange. We can fix that last with: ALT + F2 gconf-editor, looking for the key "/ apps / panel / toplevels / nombre_panel / auto_hide_size" and putting it to 0.

some time I've used Chromium much more than Firefox, but for many things Firefox is still useful to me, like to write entries in this blog, since chromium seems to be fine with blogger (is not is ironic ?)... What is really wrong with Firefox is that it is a great resource and now eat is extremely important to me to preserve as many resources as possible.
So I installed an add-in that Firefox is giving me really good results. FlashBlock It is, as its name indicates I blocks Flash content, unless of course I want to see, that's why I have only to click on a play that appears on the site Flash.
This, in addition to lowering the consumption of the browser will save a lot of distractions and annoying Flash ads, the type when are you going to die? or something like that ... they laughed in our face.
the moment I keep waiting for version 4 of Firefox, as I have understood that consumes much less than today. Install
